When Storm Water Invades Your Home Call SERVPRO of Pickens County

After a recent storm, This homeowner discovered stormwater had crept into their finished basement through their crawlspace. The carpet on the stairs, in the closet and in the hobby room had become saturated with groundwater. Thankfully, they called SERVPRO of Pickens County just in time. We were able to mitigate any water damage as well as prevent any secondary damage. Because it was groundwater that affected the home, part of the baseboards, wet carpet, and carpet padding had to be removed because of possible contamination. Next, drying equipment was set up to ensure the areas were dry. After five days the entire basement was dry and the homeowner was able to use this area again.
